Our Story-

This morning Lexie, Karina, Isla, Mathew and Andrew really enjoyed having a competition who could build the tallest sandcastle in the sandpit in the back yard.  Tom, Jordie, Klaus and Connor loved playing with diggers and climbing up and down the big red slide.  Yaolin, Mia and  Ray then arrive a little later for group time. After our morning outdoors we all sat at the door and took our shoes and hats off and made our way inside for group time with Miss Pishaya, whilst Miss Bianca helped us on the toilet and prepared our yummy morning tea.

We began group time with a good morning song- “Good morning to you” “good morning to you” “good morning everybody good morning to “Daisy” as we went around the room singing one another’s names. We then sang our daily acknowledgement to the Traditional custodians of this land in which we are here today “here is land, here is the sky, here are my friends and here am I”.

Today for group time Lexie chose the book today it was called the “the Incy Wincy spider” the children loved this book for they were able to sing along and look at the pictures of the spider climbing up the waterspout. Mathew and Andrew loved yelling out “ahh look at the spider” as their friends giggled. Once we finished the story book Miss Pishaya spoke to the children about the hot sun and what we must do on a hot day to keep us sun safe- Lexie yelled out “hat” and Mia suggested drinking water and Mathew and Andrew said alot of sunscreen. Miss Pishaya also mentioned that we must also wear our shoes and sun safe clothing. We then sang our names, washed our hands, and transitioned for morning, for morning tea today the children loved yoghurt, fresh seasonal fruits and yoghurt.

After morning teatime, it was time for the children to explore the activities and different learning environment’s that Miss Bianca, Mr Hiroshi and Miss Pishaya had set up and the children to self-select for themselves- This included:

  • Outdoor play
  • Sand play
  • Imaginary play with babies
  • Home corner
  • Painting handprints and footprints
  • Creating the Australian flag
  • Dolls house
  • Beauty corner
  • Loose parts corner

Today for activity time Miss Pishaya and Mr Hiroshi set up a foot spa for the children to learn all about self-care they had large boxes filled with water and fresh frangipanis. Karina, Mia, Mathew, Tom , Justin, Andrew, Jordie and Ray loved helping prepare the foot spa and organising the fresh flowers to float on top of the water and enjoyed putting little drops of lavender oil into the water too. Lexie, Mia, Connor, Justin, Klaus and Andrew loved having their feet scrubbed and placing their feet into the warm water with lavender oil. Lexie looked at Pishaya as she was cleaning her feet and said ‘tickles” with a little giggle.  Ray and Yaolin loved sitting on the mat with number tiles and sorting out the order from 1-10 the boys are very clever at counting and recognising numbers.  Karina and Isla loved spending their activity time in the beauty corner pretending to do one another’s makeup and hair with the beauty bags We then began to pack away and transition for lunch.

Prior to lunch the children are learning to help pack away the toys and grabbing their hats and shoes for a play outdoors. The Toddler two class are learning all about self-help skills this year and looking after their belongings and personal hygiene.  The children are doing a great job!

Today for lunch we loved serving up our own salad and pasta.  It was then time for us to head to bed and rest our bodies. We provide an opportunity for the children to re energise their little bodies. We need all our energy back to explore our environment for the afternoon. After our rest it was time for our afternoon tea, we had seasonal fruits and cookies. After we finished afternoon tea, we put our plates away, put on our sunscreen, shoes, and hats and made our way outdoors to spend the afternoon with our friends and educators.

Thank you, Toddlers 2 for a wonderful day.
