Our Story-

This morning Lexie, Ray, Tom, Klaus, Mathew and Andrew enjoyed sitting on the mat outside building towers with large wooden blocks. The boys loved stacking them high and Lexie and Karina loved running over and pushing the towers down giggling. Mia, Daisy and Presley enjoyed imaginary play with toys animals and drawing on the white boards.  Sonny and Diollo loved playing in the sandpit together building sandcastles and playing with diggers.  After our morning outdoors we all sat at the door and took our shoes and hats off and made our way inside for group time with Miss Pishaya, whilst Miss Bianca helped us on the toilet and prepared our yummy morning tea.

We began group time with a good morning song- “Good morning to you” “good morning to you” “good morning everybody good morning to “Lexie” as we went around the room singing one another’s names. We then sang our daily acknowledgement to the Traditional custodians of this land in which we are here today “here is land, here is the sky, here are my friends and here am I”.

Today for group time Miss Pishaya read a musical story book to the children that Ray chose it had “Baa Baa black sheep”, the children love musical story books! especially Daisy and Lexie they really enjoy singing along. We then sang open shut them and copied the hand actions Miss Pishaya was doing. We then all went around the group and mentioned what we could smell today- Mathew and Andrew said “sand” and Daisy said “I smell Grass.  Miss Pishaya then explained to the class that today for activity time we were going to play with magic sand to extend on our sense of touch. “yay” shouted Karina”. We then sang our names, washed our hands, and transitioned for morning, for morning tea today the children loved fresh fruit and savoury muffins.

After morning teatime, it was time for the children to explore the activities and different learning environment’s that Miss Bianca, Mr Hiroshi and Miss Pishaya had set up and the children to self-select for themselves- This included:

  • Outdoor play
  • Sand play
  • Imaginary play with babies
  • Home corner
  • Magic sand to extend on our sense of touch
  • Dolls house
  • Dinosaurs- Robbie and Diollo’s interest
  • Beauty corner
  • Loose parts corner

Today for activity time Robbie and Diollo have been interested in Dinosaur’s, Miss Bianca wanted to extend on the boy’s interest and set up a dinosaur table.   The children were so excited! we even set up two tables with dinosaur’ figurines, fake grass and rocks for the children to enjoy imaginary play. Robbie, Sonny, Ray, Klaus and Mathew loved sitting next to each other shouting “Roar” as they would hold up different dinosaurs to each other showing off their dinosaurs. Robbie even started telling his friends what colour dinosaurs they were holding “you have a blue dinosaur” said Robbie as he giggled.  Miss Bianca was busy making magic sand on the other table and Lexie, Mia, Andrew, Karina and Tom loved watching Miss Bianca make the magic sand and couldn’t wait to get their hands dirty in the magic sand. “it’s so cold” giggled Andrew, “soft” shouted Karina, “smelly sand” said Lexie. The children had so much fun mixing the sand in between their fingers and mentioning how it felt to their friends.  Summer, Presley and Jordie enjoyed playing with stamps today at the craft table and Summer loved guessing the numbers she was using- “6,3,2” wow good job! Said Mr Hiroshi.  Daisy loved pretending to be Miss Pishaya’s hairdresser today with the beauty bags “ pull your hair out please” said Daisy and she started stroking Miss Pishaya’s hair with the wooden hairbrush.  . We then started singing everyone pack away and began to transition outdoors to play on the balance beams Mr Hiroshi set up for us to explore.

Prior to lunch the children are learning to help pack away the toys and grabbing their hats and shoes for a play outdoors. The Toddler two class are learning all about self-help skills this year and looking after their belongings and personal hygiene.  The children are doing a great job!

Today for lunch we loved serving up our own salad and poke bowls.  It was then time for us to head to bed and rest our bodies. We provide an opportunity for the children to re energise their little bodies. We need all our energy back to explore our environment for the afternoon. After our rest it was time for our afternoon tea, we had seasonal fruits and pita crisps. After we finished afternoon tea, we put our plates away, put on our sunscreen, shoes, and hats and made our way outdoors to spend the afternoon with our friends and educators.

Thank you, Toddlers 2 for a wonderful day.
