Our Story-

This morning the children loved playing soccer and chasey around the yard and seeing who could find the best place to hide,  Breanna, Mia, Irina, Vera and Malia loved telling all their friends to join them in the sandpit to make sand cakes and cupcakes for morning tea.  Hrihan and Hermeros loved pushing everyone on the rope swings. After our morning outdoors we all sat at the door and took our shoes off and made our way inside for group time with Miss Bianca, whilst Miss Pishaya helped us on the toilet and prepared our yummy morning tea. Today for morning tea we had seasonal fruits and cacao slice with coconut yoghurt.

This morning for group time we went around in a circle and sang our names from our name tags and stuck them on the wall so we could see who was here today, we then sang our daily acknowledgement to the land and elders of the community.  Today for group time we had lots of friends hop up in front of the group to show off their show and tell Mason and Henri had monster trucks, Mia had a book, Breanna- shell from the beach, Leo- motor bike, Hrihan- toy car, Benji and Eden dinosaur toys and Caleb had a bus transformer. After we had show and tell we read a story called “ what’s for dinner” the book was about a small boy who didn’t want to eat his food and explained why it’s important to eat. After we finished the story, we spoke about why it is important to eat different foods.  Mia and Mason enjoyed explaining to everyone we will become sick and not grow if we do not eat.

After morning teatime, it was time for the children to explore the activities and different learning environment’s that Miss Bianca and Miss Pishaya had set up and the children self-select for themselves- This included:

  • Outdoor play
  • Arts and Crafts (Christmas gifts)
  • Building with blocks creating cars
  • Playdough
  • Water play

Today for activity time Mia, Alston, Vera, Irina and Breanna grabbed some pillows and a box of clap sticks and sat in a circle singing and clapping the wooden clap sticks together giggling at one another as they tried to sing different Christmas carols they have been learning.  Lilo, Noah and Kento loved drawing on white boards with white board markers and making pictures of scary animals.  Malia and Bobbie loved playing in the home corner with a baby pretending to cook and care for the baby.  Henri, Leo, Hrihan, Benji, Mason, Alston and Caleb loved building trains, cars, bridges and spaceships with connector blocks and wheels.  Mason, Ryder, Kai, Eden and Hunter loved imaginary play in the water box with plastic cups, funnels, and toy animals and lots of animal sound effects.  After their big morning exploring the children started packing away and preparing for lunch.

Prior to lunch the children have been helping pack away the toys and grabbing their bed sheets and making their own beds for rest time. The senior kindy class are learning all about self-help skills and doing things for themselves and looking after their belongings and personal hygiene.  The children are doing a great job dressing and undressing themselves and putting the sheets on their beds and learning to do most things on their own without any assistance from their educators.

Today for lunch we enjoyed salad and lasagne.  It was then time for us to head to bed and rest our bodies. We provide an opportunity for the children to re energise their little bodies. We need all our energy back to explore our environment for the afternoon. After our rest it was time for our afternoon tea, we had seasonal fruits and beetroot brownies. After we finished afternoon tea, we put our plates away, put on our sunscreen, shoes, and hats all by ourselves and made our way outdoors to spend the afternoon with pre kindy.
