Jingeri and good morning to our wonderful children of Pre-Kindy! Its freezing cold today, everyone please stay warm and stay healthy. The children enjoy the morning inside and outside for play. So the children can be choose either they wanted to play outside in the yard with sandpit, Dinosaur in the garden or balance beams. If inside they can choose to imaginary play on the mat (mini city) or pretending play at kitchen corner or puzzles at the table.

The children really enjoy such a variety choose of play. They enjoy the choices they can make, the resources they can play and explore.

We also would like to say goodbye to Maddison. Today is Maddison last day in kindy, she going to Go around Australia for 6 months with her family. What a lucky girl. AS this morning discuss with the children, they would love to make something for Maddison so she can bring it with her. As majority voted, we are going to make Maddison favorited, COOKIE. (2.3.3 develop the ability to recognize unfairness and bias and the capacity to act with compassion and kindness.)

To transitioning the children from outside play to group time, we line up nicely at the door, take our shoe off outside, hat into bucket and walking into our classroom. Then seat on the mat. (1.1.2 use effective routines to help make predicted transitions smoothly.)

(IT) At group time, we are very lucky, Mr Don be our special educator to organize the group time session with us. We showed Mr Don how well we can sang the ABC phonic song, we know all the ABC flash card, we know our shapes and also our days of the weeks. Mr Don also test us with some tricky question, he will point on the object/ logo and ask us about the shape of the object or the meaning of the object but guess what our pre-kindy children are very clever, they didn’t get tested and they doing so well on it. How impressive. (3.1.1 demonstrate trust and confidence.)

After morning tea, some of the children would like to do some running race with Mr Don at the veranda while we wait for our turn to make this yummy cookie with Miss Nicole and Miss Dakota.

The children washing their hand after they enjoy their morning tea, then divided as small group (we making 3 batch of it) and start making the cookie. First we using the digital scale to weight how much butter, honey, flour, milk, and vanilla extract we need, then we beat the butter and the honey together until smooth, then we adding in the vanilla extract beat a couple more min, next we adding in the flour. We using our little kneading it until it look like play dough texture. Last and not least, we ask Maddison what cookies she enjoy the most, “Chocolate” Maddison answered. As per request, we add in some dark chocolate chip into our cookie dough. We make it as round ball and flatten it with our hand. (3.2.8 show an increasing awareness of healthy lifestyles and good nutrition. )

Finished with 3 batch of the cookie making, the children also help to bring the trays to the staff kitchen and pop it into the oven and now all we need to do it wait until later in the afternoon and we all can enjoy it together.

Right before the lunch time, we made our beds, sometimes with a little help from Miss Dakota. Wonderful self-help skills Pre Kindy.  You are becoming so independent.

We enjoyed our lunch and then settled down on our beds to look quietly at books before drifting off to sleep listening to the beautiful piano and nature sounds music that Miss An put on.  Some friends rested rather than slept and everyone’s energy was nicely recharged for the afternoon when rest time was done.  Those that didn’t sleep had their rest and then moved outside for quiet activities with Miss Dakota.

We hope all our wonderful parents of Pre-Kindy have had a great day, and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow!

Miss An, Miss Dakota, Miss Nicole and Mr Don.
