Happy Monday Families and caregivers,
We explored the indoor environment today due to the wet weather, this was the perfect time to explore dramatic play and Christmas creativity. During group time we showed Miss Madie how well we can sing our Christmas carols, before listening to the story ‘The naughty list’. After listening to the story we had activities too extend on the interest children had in the Christmas story they were able to sit with Miss Madie drawing a picture for Santa telling him what they wanted. Paisley asked Santa for a skateboard and told him she wanted to sit on his lap. Indie asked Santa for an Elsa toy, Emilia asked him for an Anna dress, Theo asked for an Optimums Prime toy, Jack asked Santa to bring him MacDonald’s. Willa told Santa she has been a good girl, who likes the elf and is great at drawing stuff, she then asked Santa to bring her a skateboard. Felicity then told Santa she is a good girl & wishes she could have a sleepover at his house to make a snowman with a carrot nose, she would like him to bring her a skateboard & a scooter please. All the pictures everyone drew looked great! I am sure Santa will love them.

Mason just loves to spell out words, he got the letters himself sitting with a board, doing his best to spell out many different words. Kai liked to carry the little cars, he has been keen to make the wheels spin as fast as they could. Miss Cindy made up playdough doing 2 lots red and green to carry on with the Christmas interest asking friends to make candy canes or Christmas trees. She then added pompoms, glitter and Christmas shaped sequins to the table, which gave children chance to decorate their Christmas trees. Ivy, Paisley, Indie, Jack, Theo, Austin, Cameron, Emilia, Felicity, Mason all enjoyed manipulating the playdough in many different shapes, Dylan built a tall Christmas tree before decorating it. Willa made a little girl, even drawing a face on her to complete the girl. The dress ups came out as Ivy arrived dressed as a butterfly, he friends then join her wanting to be dressed up too, Emilia became Anna, Paisley was Belle, Indie was a fairy, Dylan became a leopard & Cameron a firefighter.

Miss Shawn read stories with Cameron, Dylan & Felicity who all took turn choosing a book for Miss Shawn to read. Mason used the loose parts table to make a pattern of rocks while Austin, Indie, Ivy & Theo liked to fill up the baskets with many loose parts to move around the room, pretending they were all sort of different things to use in their role play experiences.

We are hoping the weather is better tomorrow to give us some outside time!
