Once Miss Chloe arrived at 8:30am we separated rooms, and we began preparing for morning tea and transitioned to our high chairs singing our daily song “BB Bumble Bee can you sing your name to me”. Today for morning tea we enjoyed fresh fruit puree, banana, savory muffins, and strawberries. We are all doing a great job at feeding ourselves.
Once we finished morning tea, we had lots of fun toys and activities set up around the room to enjoy. Tayla loved playing with the babies today she grabbed a little baby and sat down on the mat patting the baby’s back humming little words to the baby to put her to sleep. Tayla then walked over to the sensory table and grabbed a bowl with dried pasta and loved pretending to feed her baby with a little spoon.
Michael and Asher also enjoyed playing at the sensory table filled with kitchen utensils, dried pasta, and cash registers. Asher loved pressing the buttons on the register and filling the register with the dried pasta and pressing the buttons to release the till so he could fill the till with more pasta. Michael loved sharing the register with Asher and giggling at him filling the till. Michael also enjoyed imaginary play with the kitchen bowls and filling them up and stirring the pasta around with a spoon pretending to eat.
Ryder loved sitting on the mat today playing with colorful Duplo blocks and building towers with Miss Rowan. Ryder enjoyed stacking the blocks and pulling them apart and pushing them over and giggling at the blocks crash to the floor. Duplo blocks help children learn to take turns and share materials, develop new friendships, become self-reliant, increase attention span, cooperate with others, and develop self-esteem.
Henry loved crawling around using his arm strength and exploring the small world animals on the floor today! he then soon after went down for a little sleep to re-energise for the remainder of the day. Alina enjoyed also sitting on the mat playing with the little finger puppets and sensory balls and feeling the different textures on the balls with her fine motor skills before she also went down for a little nap with Henry.
|At 10:30 today we then transitioned for a group time, we began group time with our daily good morning song- “Good morning to you” “good morning to you” “good morning everybody, good morning to “Tayla” as we went around the room singing one another’s names to work on our name recognition. Miss Chloe and Miss Bianca then demonstrated the actions for our daily acknowledgement as they said, “Here is the land, here is the sky, here are my friends and here am I!” our friends are doing a great job at copying the actions. Today for group time we enjoyed singing “the wheels on the bus” with an interactive storybook, Michael and Tayla loved copying the actions along with the song whilst Miss Bianca and Miss Rowan were singing. We then sang “old McDonald had a farm” with little animal finger puppets, Asher and Ryder loved holding the puppets as we all sang along.|
Once we finished group time, we transitioned for lunch by singing our transitioning song “BB bumble Bee can you sing you name to me” to encourage our name recognition. Today for lunch the children enjoyed noodles, boiled corn, carrots, and vegetable puree.
Our friends all followed their own individual sleep routines as best as they could! We endeavour to follow each child’s home routine in whatever way we can.
We enjoyed the afternoon inside to stay away from the rainy weather. We did lots of singing, dancing and making music with the music shelf while some of our friends enjoyed the quiet area, reading and flipping through books.
