WOW what a wet afternoon. As always the rain makes everyone a little silly and soggy as we all went home with wet shoes from jumping in puddles. “At least it’s Friday ” said one of our lovely Mum’s.

On the way to sign in Miss Jen had to detour with 5 little preppies Scout, Jireh, Scout, Khalessi, Zach & Ayoka carrying huge umbrellas all around the school to stay undercover until we arrived at the tuck shop area.

We had a fantastic Arakan session today as Mr Tylan was our instructor today. He walked straight over to the the boys when he arrived, introduced himself and then asked them what they would do if they were being pushed around by some one ??? This immediately intrigued Hunter, Slater, Zac, Xavier, Jayden, Angelique & Archer. He had their full attention from the word go as he poked and pushed them to see what defense skills they knew, he explained how important it is to know how to defend yourself in case someone tries to hurt them. He really enjoyed his lesson with our children as more and more joined in as the lesson went on as they all wanted to learn his skills.

He had Slater holding the kick pad for him as he explained to them how to push kick without losing balance. Then they moved onto protecting their heads. He did not hold back with his attack which made the children really work hard. They had a great time dodging the pads as he let them throw them at each other teaching them to duck and be aware of flying objects. After a solid session with a big group Jakobi & Angelique got some 1 on 1 time which they really enjoyed. Mr Tylan is hoping to come every week from now on with Miss Sabrina as our boys really bonded with him well.

It was great to see Myles, Oskar & Eli involved today.

Art today was based on the children’s interests in Easter. We have been making pretty sequin Easter eggs & decoration baskets and bunnies. Marlee asked if she could use the pictures to make chatterboxes out of which was great and she taught Ayoka, Nina, Charli & Madeline how to make them also.

Zach, Jade & Scout loved receiving a lolly from Miss Maddy for helping pick up all the pencils as Miss Jeni spilt the whole big box. Great helping thank you.

Back at the Centre Ryder, Nina, Ava, Charli & Seth had a great time together and didn’t want to go home.

After eating our morning tea we got straight into a busy activity time! We had lots of engaging activity to choose from today. Alex, Felix, Noah, Frankie and Marisa sat with Miss Stacey and went through the wiggles flashcards. They started with the colour wiggles cards, identifying each colour as they went and then got out the shape cards too.

In the loose parts area we set up a Dinosaur habitat with the wooden tree parts. Kora, Ethan, Cairo and Noah worked together to make some tall trees for the Dinosaurs to knock over. Felix also came over here and enjoyed making a house with the tree parts.

At one table we had some yellow playdough! We got out our playdough utensils and got started on creating some cakes, shapes and animals. Matilda said she was making a birthday cake for her sister Abby while Kora and Cairo enjoyed trying to roll their playdough into little balls. Ethan liked using the cut outs to make shapes and Noah liked to use the roller roll out the bumps.

On the mat we also had some block building with Miss Stacey. Noah, Frankie, Sofia, Alex and Felix enjoyed building with the Duplo together.

Today we also make some healthy pizzas with the herbs from our herb garden! This activity was an extension from our group interest in the herb gardens outside. Today we gathered some basil and parsley from the gardens and separated them into bowls. We also had two bowls with tomato paste and cheese. We then sat down at the table after washing our hands and took turns, while wearing gloves, on spreading the tomato paste out onto the pizza base. We then smelt the herbs and chose which ones to sprinkle onto the pizza and then some of our friends added cheese also. We all really enjoyed creating a delicious pizza with our own grown herbs. We were laughing and smiling while we made our pizzas. We packed away around 11 and did another small group time while we waited for our pizzas to cook.

We washed our hands and then sat up at the table for lunch. We enjoyed our toasted sandwiches but LOVED our pizzas! We were so excited to see what we had made. We finished lunch happy and ready for a rest.

A wet start to our day so we gathered in the Pre Kindy room with friends.  The children enjoyed playing with some different toys and exploring this environment.  We moved into our room once most of our friends had arrived. We started our day at 9am so we packed away the toys and got ready for group time.

The children sat on the mat for group time with Miss Angela.  We sang our listening and watching song and then recited our indigenous greeting.  The children joined in to sing our good morning song. Our book today was Where is Hairy McLairy  (requested by Josiah and Avery).  The children had turns lifting the flaps on the page to see if Hairy McLairy was there.  They are enjoying this book at the moment.  We sang Bee Bee Bumble (requested by Arielle) for our transition to wash our hands.  After we had clean hands we sat down for our morning tea.  Our Muffins were delicious.

Bella asked Miss Angela for the Wiggles music so she could dance.  She was straight away joined by Sofia, Luna, Avery, Arielle and Sienna.  Millie came over to dance and then said Now we want the Trolls.  The other girls agreed and said Yes Trolls!!

In home corner Sienna, Lennox, Arielle and Avery were setting out the plates and cups and having a tea party.  They were .selecting food from the basket and putting them on each others plates.

Boston asked for the cars and trucks and the road mat.  Lennox, Arthur, George and Josiah were lining up the cars along the road.

Arthur pointed to the crayons and Miss Angela got them out with some paper so the children could free draw.We talked about the colours of each crayon.  Luna’s interest today is colours so we decided to extend on this activity by doing some paint mixing.  The children each had a cotton bud and some red, blue and yellow paint to mix..  They made some beautiful paintings.

After our fun activity time and lunch it was time to recharge our batteries. 

All the children slept today.

As they began waking they went outside to the covered area with Miss Olivia  and did some activities on the mat while their friends were still sleeping.           

No outside play this afternoon but we had some fun activities inside.  Baby Shark dancing,  playdough, singing, blocks and stories.

It was another wet morning but didn’t stop us to enjoy indoor outdoor play on our beautifully set veranda. Alex and Artie were pushing abacus beads up and down with Miss Dana and guessing colours.

 Henrik, Odin and Gabriel were busy with magnetic blocks. Talia was blowing bubbles and chasing them.

After a morning play we sat outside on veranda with Miss Dana for group time. We sang our good morning song, days of the week song and greeted everyone. John knew it was Friday today. Ava choose book called “ I found a baby dinosaur”. We transitioned to the bathroom by asking friend to choose a partner.

The children enjoyed muffins, rockmelon and banana for morning tea.

Odin’s interest was playdough, so we made beautiful green playdough and put some playdough tools. The children enjoyed rolling and cutting it. Kotaro made egg. Miss Bek put big puzzle on the floor so Luke, Hannah, Kotaro, Henrik were very busy putting it together as a team work well done. As rain continuing Miss Bek put container outside so children can have look how much is going to fill up. Ava said its full. The children keep looking outside, so we opened the door for them to go on veranda and have fun jumping in big puddle and splashing. We have a great time on this rainy day.

After activity time we packed away and sat on the mat with Miss Dana, we transition with name recognising to the bathroom to wash our hands. We use effective routines to help make predicted transitions smoothly. For Lunch we had Avocado, Tuna and Vegie Grills. We all ate quite well and managed to pack away on our own.

After our rest today we washed our hands for afternoon tea popcorn, apple and oranges.

We stayed inside and have more fun.

Miss Dana and Miss Bek.  

Sebastian, Jacob, Carter and Josef were helping each other to build the huge tower with big wooden blocks at the veranda. After the discussion with Miss Pishaya about the safety on the construction site, they tried so hard to keep their tower stable and strong. Sebastian also let everyone know this construction site was dangerous and people needed to be careful when the walked around this area.

 Some Children chose to use their imagination and created their stories on their felt storyboard.

 Making different patterns and designs on the pegs board was still very popular in our room. Children took their time on their works. It was a nice way to develop their concentration.  

 We had been learning about letter “Tt” through this week. We had a brain storming about the words that start with letter ”Tt” and “Teeth” was one of the words that children came up with. To extend their learning experience Miss Pishaya showed everyone toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss after that they had a group discussion about dental hygiene and Miss Pishaya demonstrated brushing and flossing teeth on the teeth model. Afterwards children were able to practice brushing teeth skills on the teeth picture. Miss Pishaya put play dough on them and pretended it was food that sticked on the teeth and children needed to brush it out with toothbrush. At the other table children were practice their flossing skills on the large blocks with play dough. They had to use yarn to floss the play dough away.

 At group time before lunch, Miss Pishaya played game with children. They all been given one picture of food then they needed to sort out where would that food should be. If that food is good for teeth they needed to put on the happy tooth. But if the food is sometime food that we should clean our teeth after we eat it they needed to put on the sad tooth.

Another wet day at kindy today. Senior kindy began their morning inside with Miss Madie, they all sat on the mat with her and helped her to sing some songs with the puppets. The children enjoyed singing 5 cheeky monkeys, 5 little sea creatures, old mac Donald had a farm and if you’re happy and you know it. Senior kindy had so much fun sing the songs and holding the puppets. When everyone had arrived at kindy we transitioned to the bathroom to wash our hands ready for some yummy morning tea.

After Senior kindy finished their morning tea the children found some activities on the mat they wanted to play with, Miss Claudia opened the doors giving the children an opportunity to have a big run. Ezekiel, Lucas. S, Oliva, Charlize, Corey, Hamish, Luca, Ned, Anna, Safy and Serene were taking turns making lots of music on the xylophone. Miss Claudia then asked them if they would like to play a game, they all sat on the grass in a circle and Miss Claudia taught Senior Kindy how to play Doggy, doggy where’s your bone. After a lot of practicing they all got the hang of the game and had so much fun taking turns at being the doggy!

During group time today everyone told Miss Madie that it was raining outside and they had to use their umbrellas so they didn’t get wet, so Miss Madie set up an art activity at the table. She put some glitter, paint and collage materials on the table for senior kindy. Luca, Charlize, Hamish, Safy, Serene, Vanessa, Harper, Mio, Lucas. M, Olivia, Ned, Stevie, Charlize and Anna all came over to the table and took turns collaging some umbrellas.

Senior Kindy had Arakan today. The Children all had a go at Arakan today, they worked on their balance and their stance. Senior Kindy are all doing so well with Arakan and learning all the different games.

Our puppet friend Toby joined us for our morning group time today. He came to talk to the group about ways to keep healthy and safe. A discussion was implemented about health and hygiene and the importance of washing our hands. Dylan informed Toby and his friends times when we should wash our hands including before eating food and after going to the toilet. Mr Tom arrived for our session of Arakan martial arts shortly after our group time. Strikes were worked on during todays session. Following some warm up exercises the children revisited their stances as Mr Tom directed. Turns were then taken for individual turns to be taken to practice and refine hand strikes and back fists against the hand pad.

Play dough was voted for and suggested by many during our morning planning session. Sidney, Dylan, and Jylah all enjoyed working with the dough while engaging in interactions with one another. The play dough provided lots of wonderful language rich interactions today as Alexander, Lucca and Blake explored and spoke about numerical concepts such as size, length and width. Yesterday both Xander and Juno worked on a one hundred piece puzzle. Today they both selected the puzzles from the cupboard and enjoyed solitude as they worked alongside one another placing the pieces together. Shortly after arriving to kindergarten, Blake spent some time talking about Ferrari’s with his teacher. After much discussion Blake helped to set out some paint to the art table alongside some pictures depicting two Ferrari’s. Many beautiful pictures were worked on by the children. Molly spent time adding much detail to her painting which included the cars logo and surroundings including a road. Lucca and Leo both worked at the art table later during the morning. Some photo sequencing observations were undertaken as they both interacted with and used the paint to create with. Later during the rest period we revisited a discussion had yesterday about sign language.

We have been using sign language during a story called “Are you my mother?. Today we continued with this and learnt some new signs for the word dog, cat, chicken, cow and bird. Some number lines were used today as an intentional experience. A counting board and some loose numbers have been set out upon a tray. Leo, Lucca and Bohdi all worked together using the board creating colour patterns with their counters. The number lines were introduced following this and were worked on by many friends including Jylah, Molly and Xander. Have a lovely weekend.

Paisley loved taking care of the babies in the cot. She ensured they had a blanket on them to keep them warm. Nate and Jack enjoyed dressing up with different hats. Jaden was excited to explore with the trains and cars. Felicity loved building with natural blocks on the table.

After our big morning playing outside, we made our way to our room. We were all very hungry from our big morning outside.  We then went with Miss Lauren to wash our hands while Miss Chloe prepared our morning tea. This morning we enjoyed yummy choc chip and banana muffins with fresh fruit. Our friends did a great job eating their food.

It was now time to explore our environment. We had lots of fun activities out including:

-           Home corner

-           Book corner

-           Easter presents

-           Playdough

-           Painting

-           Horse colourings        

We had so much exploring with our peers and educators today. Our new friend Scarlett, from the babies room, came to visit us today. Her educator Miss Chloe told that Scarlett has a special pony at home names Sparkles. To help Scarlett settle in to her new room, Miss Lauren printed out special horse pictures to paint just like her pony at home. Miss Nicole made a batch of pretty pink playdough for our friends to explore. Jaden, Terrace, Paisley, Jack, Nana, Felicity and Scarlett enjoyed exploring what they were able to do with the playdough. Maggie loved reading her special books that she brought in from home. Paisley sat down beside her and enjoyed reading a book she had chosen from the book box. Jack, Jaden, Nate, Paisley and Felicity were curious about the rubbish truck when it came to take our rubbish away. Terrance, Nana, Felicity, Nate and Jack all enjoyed being creative with free painting with beautiful colours.

It was now time to pack away all our toys and prepare for our yummy lunch.        Our friends are doing a great job at helping pack away.  We then lined up at the door to wash our hands. We then washed our hands with Miss Chloe. Once we washed our hands we found our drink bottles and sat at the table for lunch, Miss Lauren helped us find our bottles and prepared our lunch.  Today we enjoyed fresh tuna and vegetable sandwiches.

It was now time for us to head to bed and rest our bodies. We provide an opportunity for the children to re energise their little bodies.     We need all our energy back to explore the outside playground this afternoon.

After our rest it was time for our afternoon tea. Today for afternoon tea we enjoyed delicious fresh fruit and crackers.

We meet up with toddlers two to spend the afternoon playing.      Once we finished our afternoon tea we read a few of our favourite books to relax our bodies into the afternoon inside.

Miss Lauren and Miss Chloe.

Today we had a slow start to the morning with most of our friends arriving at morning tea time ready for food and play.

Today Chia, Scarlet, Abby and Emmy’s interest was wiggles and dancing! It was the best fun activity on a rainy day with wiggles dancing music and disco light. Miss Chloe brought dancing ribbons out for the babies and showed how to do the movement. Chia was wearing a yellow wiggle, Emma dress today. She was so proud of showing her dress to her friends and teachers. Emmy pointed to Chia’s dress, talked to her, gave her a dancing stick and invited her to the dance floor! Scarlett clapped her hands and said ‘yay!’ every time when a song was finished. Abby was happily watching everyone showing their dancing movements and she clapped her hands, sang wiggles song along the music loudly and did not forget packing away the dancing sticks when they finished! Abby is always the first one to start putting toys away, thank you for your awesome help, Abby, well done!

Warren loved reading a book and looking at the pictures closely with miss Chloe. Emmy kept saying fish fish and enjoyed feeding nemo. We had some fun with fireman hats and our mirrors. Chia found Miss Kyoko on a mirror, turned around she made sure that Miss Kyoko

was behind her and she looked into the mirror again smiled to Miss Kyoko in the mirror. Abby noticed that she could also see her friends in a mirror. Abby closely looked into a mirror and waved to her friends in the mirror with a big smile on her face. Abby and Chia both enjoyed pulling funny faces at themselves in the mirror.

Miss Kyoko brought the outdoor equipment inside today because of the wet weather the babies loved when the equipment was inside! The slide was especially popular with Warren. He went hid under the slide and waited someone found him.

Afternoon tea was everyone’s favorites, lots of eating and munching on healthy fruits and some yummy crackers.

More stories, dancing, singing and playing with peek a boo were what the babies chose to play with this afternoon.

We have had such a wonderful afternoon. Thank you After School Care for an amazing day!
Miss Imogen served afternoon tea of fruit and sandwiches and most of the children had something small to eat before we headed over to the field.

The sprinkles of rain didn’t stop the children from having fun and it was great to see everybody join into small groups and playing nicely with each other.

Up at the playground with Miss Maddy, Summer, Indigo, Eden, Marlee, Jarmila and Jessica played a game of witches. On the oval Ashley, Savannah and Ayoka had running races, handstand and cartwheel competition. Linden, Payton, Juan and Kye played a friendly game of handball. Nash, Jett, Payton, Ryder and Jayden played a game of soccer. Ethan, Aydin and Eli were hitting tennis balls with the cricket wicket sticks they boys looked like they were having a lot of fun. Angus and Khaleesi were having a nice conversation with Miss Imogen. Kye and Noah where kicking the soccer ball with Miss Jo.

Once we got back to our cool air-conditioned room Myles, Archer, Noah, Caleb, Jireh, Jack, Mali, Payton, Eli, and Tristan played Minecraft on the playstation. Summer, Marlee, Indigo, Jarmila, Jessica, Ayoka, Khaleesi, Savannah, Eden, Chris and Angus played in home corner and played in the shop they also built a cubby house. Aydin, Noah, Linden, Tristan E played on their iPad’s.
